The TAQA qualifications are structured around three core units:
-
Unit 301: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
-
Unit 302: Assessing Occupational Competence in the Work Environment
-
Unit 303: Assessing Vocational Skills, Knowledge, and Understanding
These units combine to form four assessor qualifications:
-
Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (Unit 301 Only) – For those who need to understand assessment principles but will not actively assess learners.
-
Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (Units 301 + 302) – For workplace assessors evaluating NVQ/SVQ-style qualifications.
-
Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (Units 301 + 303) – For assessors evaluating classroom-based or vocational training.
-
Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (Units 301 + 302 + 303) – Full assessor certification, allowing assessment in both workplace and vocational training environments.
