Accredited FPOS – First Person on Scene Intermediate
This First Person on Scene (Intermediate) training course is only £450 + vat and includes the IHCD training manual, Edexcel registration and FPOS certification.
Introduction:
Approved by The Institute of Health Care Development (IHCD from Edexcel) and Clinical endorsed by the Faculty of Pre- Hospital Care (Edinburgh).
IHCD provides Awarding Body services for the Ambulance Service Association. The awards are the training standard for those employed by NHS Ambulance Services, and are operated throughout the United Kingdom.
Edexcel is the UK’s largest awarding body to offer a range of both general and specialist qualifications, for UK and international markets. FPOS Intermediate is the minimum standard for community responders and close protection officers.
Course Objectives:
This 4 day course is designed for students who wish to extend their basic First Aid skills to the next level, so students should already hold a current first aid certificate.
The course is broken down into easy to digest components, consisting of practical and theoretical sessions.
At the end of the course there will be an assessment consisting of both theoretical and practical elements, which will ensure that the student has met the requirements of the course, and reached a high level of knowledge and skill.
Successful students will be awarded a certificate which is approved by the Institute of Health Care Development (IHCD from Edexcel), and clinically endorsed by the Faculty of Pre- Hospital Care (Edinburgh).
Students who do not hold a current first aid certificate will need to be trained for an additional day, making it a 5 day course.
Course Contents:
- Primary survey
- Secondary survey
- AED training. Heart rhythm recognition
- Golden hour management.
- Advanced airway managemen
- O2 and Entonox therapy
- BMV training
- Aspects of splinting
- Spinal management
- Allergic reaction The use of the Epi-pen
- Paediatric trauma and illness
Course Duration: 4-5 days.
Certification – After completing a written and practical assessment a certificate will be awarded from IHCD (Edexcel)
Pre-Course Requirements – There are no pre-course requirements
